Then I remembered from my past experiences that with every new hardware there seemed to be issues with graphics card/driver. Tried all the usual recommended remedies, but nothing worked. There was just no other way to come out of this coma other than forced rebooting. My rMBP had randome freezes seemingly starting from Safari, then spreading to the whole system, refusing to launch programs, etc., forcing me to restart every 1-2 hours. This may apply to non-Retina and MacBook Airs, too. I would like to share my experience with the random freezing on my brand new Retina MacBook Pro.
